Small green and purple glow of Aurora at Newcastle beach

Night sky

Over the past few nights, I captured a series of aurora borealis photographs across County Wicklow.

September 12th, 2024 – Newcastle: Although the aurora’s intensity faded after nightfall, a faint glow remains visible on the left side of the frame.

September 5th, 2024 – Athgreany Stone Circle: This ancient site offered a mystical backdrop for the night sky.

September 4th, 2024 – Threecastles Castle: The silhouette of the castle beneath the stars created a timeless atmosphere.

These locations — Newcastle, Athgreany, and Threecastles — are part of Wicklow’s rich landscape, each offering a unique perspective on the aurora borealis and the quiet joy of stargazing.
